Four important groups at University Computing are:

Enterprise Applications

- The Enterprise
Applications group maintains the University's student, employee, business,
alumni, and development data bases and the tools for using them.
- Instructional
Technology Group

- In order to enhance
teaching and learning at Washington and Lee, the Instructional Technology
Group (ITG) will provide leadership and coordination for the development,
promotion, and support of instructional technologies.
- Networking
and Systems Administration
- The Network and Systems
Group maintains and administers the University's high-speed internal
network, shared computing servers, and links to the global Internet.
- In addition, the group provides
a centralized repair and maintenance facility for University-owned
computers and other electronic equipment, supports the campus telecommunications
and network infrastructure and assists faculty and staff in working
with instructional and business-related technologies.

Integration Group

- Members of the Technology
Integration Group provide personal computing and network connectivity
support for the users of technology in specific W&L departments,
schools or groups.
The Technology Integration Group includes the HelpDesk
(John White, director) and the Student Computing Coordinator (Earl
Edwards). The HelpDesk provides
the first line of response for students, faculty and staff with
computer-related questions and problems.
