Technology education

An array of strategies is provided for learning technology at Washington and Lee:

Self-paced learning

  • On-line training through Element K: Self-paced, interactive courses, delivered on the Web on hundreds of applications, including Windows 2000, Windows 98, GroupWise, Office 2000 and many more. Free to the W&L faculty, staff and students
  • Workbooks, manuals and other guides. Leyburn Library circulates various materials on the software supported by W&L.

Technology liaison program

Members of departments serve as liaisons to University Computing and participate in various activities to help those departments effectively use technologies in their work. Details

Leyburn 301 contains 12 Windows-based computer workstations plus a teacher workstation. It is available for technology training of faculty, staff and students on weekdays during business hours (at other times, it is open to students as a general purpose lab). See these instructions for checking the availability of the lab, and making a reservation for your training session. Questions? Send an e-mail.
