Dial-in access with Connect97
About the Service About the ServiceConnect97 provides off-campus Internet access through a dial-in connection for students, faculty and staff of Washington and Lee University. This service is intended to be used in conjunction with one's studies or employment at W&L. It is not intended to match or compete with the services offered by regular Internet Services Providers (ISPs). If your needs exceed the restrictions stated below, you should purchase service with an ISP. Alternative Internet Service
Providers Restrictions on the ServiceIn order to preserve access to this service for the entire user community, the University has placed several restrictions on the use of the service.
If your needs exceed these
restrictions, you should purchase service with an ISP. A list of providers
is available here. Using the ServiceTo begin using the service, configure a dial-up connection using your Novell username and password and dial this number:
Complete instructions for setting up Connect97 on a Windows XP computer are here. Note: Because direct network
access is available campus wide with the completion of the fraternity
wireless project, the on-campus number for accessing Connect97 is no longer
available. Learn more about our wireless
