Saving Email AttachmentsThere will be times when you receive e-mails with attachments that you would like to save. Unfortunately, attachments take up a lot of space in GroupWise, and can quickly push you over the limit of your allowed GroupWise storage. Each GroupWise mailbox is limited to (or will soon be limited to) 150Mb for faculty and staff, and 100MB for students. If your mailbox size exceeds the limit, you cannot send new items until you free up more space in your mailbox. University Computing suggests you save your attachments to one of the drives on your computer or to a disk or CD. In our example, we will save an attachment to our personal, or H:, drive. Open an email that has an attachment.
You will see the icon for the attachment in the attachment window.
Right-click on it and select Save As.
A Save As dialog box will appear. It will probably show all of the icons on the desktop. Since we want to save the attachment to our H: drive, we will click on the drop down arrow and select the H: drive from the drop down list.
Within the H: drive, select the folder where the attachment will be saved.
Make sure the file name is appropriate and then select Save.
You can now delete the e-mail with the attachment so that you have more room in GroupWise. |
