Faculty development

Sources of support for instructional technology include:

  • Technology education. Workbooks, on-line help and group workshops are provided to help faculty members learn computer applications. Jeff Overholtzer coordinates workshop sessions, which are led by him and others in University Computing as well as faculty members. Workshops include specialized topics such as Instructional Websites, and department-specific training is available. More information here.
  • Multimedia production. The Instructional Technology Laboratory in Leyburn Library and the Tucker Multimedia Center can digitize slides and photographs, digitize sound, create custom CD-ROMs and perform many other services.
  • Technology integration specialists. Each academic department is assigned a person within University Computing who consults with faculty members on their technology needs and works with other members of UC to meet those needs.
